* Sadly my iClone entry for the CG Society Lighting Challenge didn’t make it into the final gallery selection, but the finalists gallery is an amazing sample of what can be done with the “big” 3D CG applications. The new and latest CG Society Lighting Challenge is The Cabin: deadline 16th October 2010. The model/setting is free…

* Currently free at DAZ: Dystopian Console Station (8Mb download). With “new” and “used” textures. I’m not sure how low-poly it is, but it certainly looks worth having…

* You can never have enough barrels and crates, and Jonathan Williamson has made his own Creative Commons pack, without textures…

* Last chance to grab some free DAZ/Poser animals. You’ll need 3DXchange 4 Pro and the DAZ Studio 3d conversion kit to get these into iClone…

* An interesting-looking collection of spaceship parts for Blender.

* CrazyBump is now free for schools/education.
