  1. Nice of you to put movie here. It could look and sound better with some post-production, but for the contest I left raw CrazyTalk output. I will improve glitches when I find a couple hours of free time, around the winter of 2017…

  2. Just wanted to add that I won three awards with this movie, one of them is something I wanted for a long time, the Wacom Intuos tablet. I wonder how useful a gadget like this can be, beside the obvious use for 2D manipulation, but working with 3D environments in iClone? Any ideas about that?

  3. * You will make better cut-outs for use in CrazyTalk Animator.

    * You will paint on 3D models better, if you have retexturing software that allows you to re-paint a model in 3D.

    * It would be useful for making your own 2D background mattes.

  4. Congrats on the awards. I use a tablet with iClone at times depending on what I’m doing… a very cheap… no name tablet and it works well. Just takes getting used to like anything else. I don’t use it everyday though… probably should because its nice to sit back with one and work. Very relaxing compared to hunched over a keyboard and mouse.

Again… congrats on the awards. Well deserved.

  5. Thanks, Warlord. Coming from you, it means a lot. About a Wacom tablet — I am aware of the usefulness for 2D, but I was wondering how it behaves when manipulating in a 3D environment, with 3D objects in 3D space, for example? Is it possible to configure pressure-sensitivity for the movement on the Z axis, to do ‘really real-time’ puppeteering, things like that? I wonder…

  6. I would think that it would be because the Wacom software should be quite advanced by now, and highly customizable in that regard, but I am guessing.

Some of the best 3D artists I know use tablets for everything from creating characters and props to keyframe animation. That’s beyond me. But to watch them work, and see the speed at which they get things accomplished is amazing to me.

For some reason I’m married to the damned mouse. I do too many other things to rely on a tablet for extended use, but in the right hands they are an amazing tool.
