Animating business

A lovely animation by one of my city’s leading painters, in partnership with a local animator, to make an eye-catching animation for a company building a new retirement village…

Adobe Edge reviewed

Digital Arts has a review of the forthcoming Adobe Edge, Adobe’s HTML5 animation editor that’s “just like Flash” (eugh). It seems Edge is currently more of a banner ads maker, than a competitor to CrazyTalk Animator. Do people still make those nasty flashy/blinky banner ads? I never see them, because I have ad-blockers in my browser.

“This initial preview version’s capabilities are firmly focused on animation… it’s best suited to the creation of self-contained animations, such as banner ads, at present.”

Galloping giveways

Oh lordy, now a third 3D magazine is giving away DAZ Studio 3 Advanced for free. This time it’s the latest 3D Artist magazine. They also have a interesting-sounding article: “Post-production masterclass: use Photoshop to add finishing touches”, should you be considering which of the mags to buy.

I wonder if, once the bugfix patches for v.5 get nailed down, Reallusion might give away iClone 4 Standard for free, via the magazines?
