Digital Arts has a review of the forthcoming Adobe Edge, Adobe’s HTML5 animation editor that’s “just like Flash” (eugh). It seems Edge is currently more of a banner ads maker, than a competitor to CrazyTalk Animator. Do people still make those nasty flashy/blinky banner ads? I never see them, because I have ad-blockers in my browser.

Cool creepy idea for Halloween. Have a desktop 3D-printer print a real 3D mask made from a detailed 3D scan/photo of your face. I can imagine a wild upmarket masked ball where everyone swops such face masks…
New issue of the free CG and computer graphics magazine CG Arena. This issue has several special Photoshop articles that might help you take the plasticky look off CG renders.
Oh lordy, now a third 3D magazine is giving away DAZ Studio 3 Advanced for free. This time it’s the latest 3D Artist magazine. They also have a interesting-sounding article: “Post-production masterclass: use Photoshop to add finishing touches”, should you be considering which of the mags to buy.
I wonder if, once the bugfix patches for v.5 get nailed down, Reallusion might give away iClone 4 Standard for free, via the magazines?
