TheBlu real-time ocean simulator has gone into public beta. It’s an interesting idea, done in the free Unity game engine, but the new screenshots suggest that they haven’t yet got the lighting and level of detail of the undersea world right. The caustics (complex patterns of sunlight filtered down through the water, and bouncing up from the sand) are missing.
Warlord is developing a flocking prop for iClone…
“An animated flock of seven birds swooping around an area. Low poly. Less than 13K faces for each flock so you can use several flocks on screen at once. Simple right click menu commands. DO NOT REMOVE ANIMATION or you will have to reanimate the birds individually with their built in fly action. This is not made for closeups. Use in the distance to establish motion and add life to your scenes.”
No sign of it yet on the Marketplace “What’s New”, but it can be found at Prop Masters for 399 Points.
